Un axe prioritaire articulé autour des départements BEPC et BMC, avec des travaux sur les causes et facteurs contextuels de la mortalité et morbidité maternelles, néonatales et infantiles, y compris les soins obstétricaux d’urgence et la nutrition. Ce champ bénéficie du soutien des BpreparD, des BIRS et du laboratoire biomédical du centre.
